Workout to FIT

Paste a workout note, check the steps, and download a Garmin workout file you can load onto your watch.

What you can write
  • 3 x 12 dumbbell curls → 3 sets of 12 reps
  • 2x 200m run - 30s rest → repeat 2× (run 200 m, rest 30 s)
  • 60s row, plank 45s, 5 min bike, 1:30 jump rope → timed steps
  • 400m walk, 1 km run, 0.5 mi jog → distance steps (a bare m under 50 means minutes)
  • 5x5 back squat @ 185lb 2 min rest → weight and rest
  • rest 2 min on its own line → a rest step
  • warm up 5 min bike or cool down 400m walk
  • 3 rounds: 60s rest, then exercises on the lines below it until a blank line → a circuit
  • # Leg Day → workout name

Loading Garmin's FIT library…
    Getting it onto your watch
    1. Plug the watch into your computer with its USB cable.
    2. Copy the .fit file into the watch's GARMIN/NewFiles folder.
    3. Unplug. The workout appears under Training → Workouts on the watch.

    Garmin Connect's website only imports activities, not workout files, so copying over USB is the supported route. Workouts added this way stay on the watch and don't appear in your Garmin Connect workout library.
